CaptureSelect™ Factor II(a) Affinity Matrix

Due to its calcium-independent binding to the B-chain epitope, this resin is particularly well-suited for purifying native factors II and IIa from human plasma sources. Additionally, it provides high purity and yield in the purification of recombinant forms of these factors from clarified culture harvests.

Features of this affinity matrix include:

• Highly selective for factors II (prothrombin) and IIa (thrombin), without cross reactivity to other human plasma proteins
• Binds without the need for calcium

CaptureSelect products contain affinity ligands based on recombinant single-domain antibody fragments (VHH) created by a proprietary technology. The VHH affinity ligand is a 12–15 kDa fragment comprising the three complementarity-determining regions (CDRs) that form the antigen-binding domain, efficiently produced in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae by a production process free of any animal components (animal origin-free).
