What are the current software versions and recommended computer Operating Systems for the Procise System?

The most current Procise software version is PC 2.1, which is compatible with Windows 2000 (Servicepack 1 through 4) and Windows XP (Servicepack 1 and 2 ONLY).  Those customers who still have version PC 2.0 (Windows 2000 only) are entitled to a free upgrade to version 2.1, which provides improvements, and adds features which were absent from, version 2.0.  Procise PC 2.1 computer recommendations are for a Pentium IV CPU and  256 MB RAM.  Applied Biosystems can provide a new pre-imaged Dell computer with a flat panel monitor when this upgrade is purchased.

For Macintosh users, the current chemistry version, 1.1.1, was released in April 1997; the 610A data analysis version is 2.1, released in October 1995.  No additional upgrades for Macintosh have been released, this software format is compatible only with Macintosh OS 7.5.3 through OS 9.2. All newer Macintosh computers come with OS X and higher, and these operating systems are NOT compatible with any Procise software versions. Down-revving a Macintosh computer from a higher to a lower OS is not recommended.  In addition, upgrading old or failing Macintosh computers with model G3 or G4 computers will also require installation of a special serial card and software to permit communication with the Procise, along with reloading the operating software and 610A programs from a CD-ROM (part no. 4313516).
