Using specific inhibitors, kinase-negative mutants, and small interfering RNA against protein kinase Ca (PKCa) or PKCßI, we find that PKCßI positively regulates degranulation in rat basophilic leukemia-2H3 cells, whereas PKCa negatively regulates degranulation.
