When setting up a single chip run with the Ion 550 Kit-Chef, I get an error message indicating that there is a chip type mismatch. What does it mean?

In most cases, a chip type mismatch error indicates that the Ion Chef S5 Series Chip Balance was placed incorrectly in the Chip-loading centrifuge. Please make sure that the Ion Chef S5 Series Chip Balance is placed in Position 2 of the Chip-loading centrifuge.

How do I ensure cartridge-use tracking with the Ion 550 Kit-Chef?

To use the flexible workflow feature (single chip/dual chip) and enable cartridge-use tracking between Torrent Servers across multiple Ion Chef instruments, Torrent Servers must be linked in an Ion Mesh configuration.
