I accidentally left my OpenArray e.g. Vaginal Microbiota Comprehensive Plate (Cat. No. A39899), still sealed in foil package, at room temperature and it thawed. Can it still be used?

We do not have any extensive stability data on how long the array can sit at room temperature. Limited testing has shown that the extra freeze-thaw is fine. Therefore, the array may possibly still be good to use. We recommend returning the array to -20°C until you are ready to use it. If you have an array that was left out for an extended time, we recommend that you have a positive control so that the data can be compared to what you have historically seen.

Which sample prep kit do you recommend when running vaginal microbiota profiling experiments?

We recommend the MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra Kit (Cat. No. A25597) for isolating DNA for vaginal microbiota profiling experiments.

How can I check for the presence of inhibitors in my samples when running microbiota profiling experiments?

We offer a TaqMan Universal DNA Spike-In Control (Cat. No. A39175 or A39176) that can be added to samples before extraction, to monitor recovery efficiency.
