The Applied Biosystems VetMAX M. paratuberculosis 3.0 Kit utilizes real-time PCR for the sensitive and specific detection of Mycobacterium avium ssp. paratuberculosis (MAP) nucleic acid in animal samples, allowing for reliable and rapid detection of infected animals. The kit can be used to test for MAP in many species (cattle, sheep, goats, and camels) and a wide variety of sample types (feces, milk, environmental samples).
Key features and benefits
The VetMAX M. paratuberculosis 3.0 Kit allows optimal sensitivity across all sample types in a short 54-minute amplification protocol. The test has been optimized to ensure consistent performance while also benefiting from a fast turnaround time for results.
The VetMAX M. paratuberculosis 3.0 assay kit, in combination with our MagMAX CORE sample disruption products (Cat. Nos. A40004818 and A40004819) and nucleic acid purification kit, enables a workflow that has been fine tuned to provide labs with a fast, user-friendly, complete process for high throughout processing with enhanced performance. Internal and external positive controls are provided with the kit to help provide confidence and standardization of results.
MAP infection, also known as Johne's Disease, primarily targets the mesenteric ganglia and small intestine, leading to a chronic intestinal infection. Clinical symptoms include diarrhea, weight loss, and edema. These symptoms become noticeable only in the advanced stages of the disease. The main diagnostic tools include PCR and ELISA tests (see Cat. Nos. A65415, A65415 for ELISA options).
