The CyQUANT LDH Cytotoxicity Assay - Fluorescence Kit (Cat. No. C20303) contains sufficient reagents to perform 1,000 assays in 96-well plates.

Here are potential causes:
- Fluorescence may be quenched and/or LDH activity may be inhibited by various chemical compounds.
- The LDH may be precipitated/denatured.
- LDH can also be digested by any proteases liberated in the extracellular medium, examine the samples for protease activity.

Yes. The Spontaneous LDH Release Control provides the lower limit of natural LDH release for untreated samples (healthy cells). Without this control, you cannot determine whether any treatment resulted in any change in release, which relates to levels of cytotoxicity.

We do not recommend doing this. LDH is an enzyme that will lose activity in diluted form when stored over time, refrigeration would not limit this loss of activity and freezing would cause a greater loss of activity.
