Pre-enrich food and environmental samples prior to the isolation of Salmonella, Cronobacter, and Enterobacteriaceae using Thermo Scientific™ Buffered Peptone Water (ISO) Ready Bag in a double strength concentration.

This double strength BPW formulation is applicable for the pre-enrichment of food and environmental products with an acidic pH (lower than 4.5) for the detection of Salmonella, Cronobacter, and Enterobacteriaceae as specified in ISO 6579-1¹, ISO 22964², ISO 21528-1³, and ISO 6887-1⁴. In double concentration, the media is intended to be used as follows:

It is ideal when dry samples are tested (powders, spices, environmental swabs), as it provides stronger buffer capacity and stabilizes the pH while supporting cell recovery
It is ideal for testing whole poultry carcasses
It allows 1:1 dilution with samples (no water added)
