Lithium hydroxide monohydrate is used in preparation of other lithium salts, as a catalyst in the production of alkyd resins, in esterifications. It is also used in the production of lithium soaps, greases, sulfonates and electric storage batteries.

Applications
Lithium hydroxide monohydrate is used in preparation of other lithium salts, as a catalyst in the production of alkyd resins, in esterifications. It is also used in the production of lithium soaps, greases, sulfonates and electric storage batteries.

Solubility
Soluble in water (216 mg/ml at 20°C), ethanol (freely), and alcohol (slightly).

Notes
Air sensitive and hygroscopic. Incompatible with oxidizing agents and acids.
