HYB 212-01-02 detects biotin in samples.
HYB 212-01-02 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western blotting techniques. HYB 212-01-02 reacts strongly with biotin. Strong reaction is seen in ELISA with biotin/OA directly coated onto the microtiter well, also when tested in sandwich ELISA in combination with streptavidin. In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE, HYB 212-01-02 reacts with biotinylated protiens in both reduced and non-reduced forms.
The HYB 212-01-02 immunogen is biotinylated, denatured ovalbumin.
NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
Biotin is a water-soluble B complex vitamin, generally classified as Vitamin B7. It is required by all organisms and can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plant species. Biotin is required for incorporation of carbon dioxide into organic compounds and exhibits a MW of ~244 Da.
