Tris Tricine Gel Electrophoresis is routinely used for the separation of small proteins and peptides with a molecular weight of I to 100 kDa. It is used for protein analysis. This type of gel is perfectly suited for the separation and identification of proteins in samples containing only a few different proteins to samples containing complex mixtures (e.g. from cell extracts).
