PLP1 Antibody (MA1-90652) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescence analysis of PLP1 was performed using 70% confluent log phase Hep G2 and PC-3 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% Paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 10 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 10 minutes at room temperature. Target Information
PLP1 is a transmembrane proteolipid protein that is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system. It may play a role in the compaction, stabilization, and maintenance of myelin sheaths, as well as in oligodendrocyte development and axonal survival. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease and spastic paraplegia type 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms or having different 5' UTRs, have been identified for this gene.This gene encodes a transmembrane proteolipid protein that is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system.
