Aspartoacylase Antibody (MA5-26728) in IHC (P)
Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded carcinoma of human lung tissue. To expose target proteins, 1 mM EDTA in 10mM Tris, pH8.5, 120°C for 3min was used. Following antigen retrieval, tissues were probed with a ASPA monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-26728).

ASPA is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of N-acetyl_L-aspartic acid (NAA) to aspartate and acetate. NAA is abundant in the brain where hydrolysis by aspartoacylase is thought to help maintain white matter. This protein is an NAA scavenger in other tissues.
