Western blot analysis of GCLM in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with GCLM Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-37836) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 10s.

Target Information
Gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase (gamma-GCS) is the rate limiting enzyme for glutathione (L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine, GSH) synthesis. GSH is ubiquitous in mammalian cells as a vital intra- and extracellular protective antioxidant. Gamma-GCS is a heterodimer of a heavy catalytic subunit and a light regulatory subunit that is responsive to inflammation, phenolic ntioxidants, heat shock, oxidants and cytokines.
