2-Nitrofurazone metabolite (2-NFZ) is a nitrofuran antibiotic used in veterinary medicine to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in animals. It is a metabolite of the drug nitrofurazone, which is commonly used in topical applications for wound care in animals. 2-NFZ works by inhibiting bacterial growth and is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is generally well-tolerated by animals, with few side effects reported.
