Compatible with Direct ELISA
Ganglioside GD2 is a disialoganglioside (glycosphingolipid) expressed on the outer surface of the plasma membrane. It is highly expressed in tumors of neuroectodermal origin, including neuroblastoma, melanoma, osteosarcoma, and small cell lung cancer, while showing limited distribution in normal tissues, primarily in peripheral nerves and the central nervous system. GD2 plays roles in cell adhesion, migration, and signal transduction. Because of its high tumor expression and restricted normal tissue distribution, GD2 is an established target for antibody-based immunotherapies, particularly in high-risk neuroblastoma.
