TUBA1B/TUBA4A Antibody (MA5-57299) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemical staining of TUBA1B/TUBA4A in HepG2 cells using TUBA1B/TUBA4A Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-57299) at a 1:1,1000 dilution. Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; alpha 1B/4A Tubulin was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor® 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. TUBA1B and TUBA4A are genes that encode for alpha-tubulin isoforms, essential components of the microtubule system that plays a critical role in maintaining cell structure, intracellular transport, and cell division. TUBA1B, also known as tubulin alpha-1b chain, is located on chromosome 12q13.12 and has been linked to various cancers due to its influence on microtubule dynamics and cellular proliferation. It is also associated with immune cell infiltration and modulation of immune checkpoints, making it significant in tumor growth and metastasis. TUBA4A, known as tubulin alpha-4A, is found on chromosome 2q35 and is linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Mutations in TUBA4A can lead to defects in microtubule stability and function, emphasizing its role in neuronal health.
