Carnosic acid is a phenolic diterpenoid primarily found in Lamiaceae plants such as rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis). Structurally, carnosic acid possesses a phenolic moiety that enables it to effectively scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) and upregulate antioxidant defenses.
