IDI1 Antibody (PA5-100567) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of IDI1 in HepG2 cells. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with IDI1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-100567) and mouse anti-beta tubulin antibody for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) (Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) (Green) were used as the secondary antibodies. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).

IDI1 encodes a peroxisomally-localized enzyme that catalyzes the interconversion of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) to its highly electrophilic isomer, dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP), which are the substrates for the successive reaction that results in the synthesis of farnesyl diphosphate and, ultimately, cholesterol. It has been shown in peroxisomal deficiency diseases such as Zellweger syndrome and neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy that there is reduction in IPP isomerase activity.
