SERF2 Antibody (PA5-103311) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of SERF2 in A549 cells. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with SERF2 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-103311) and mouse anti-beta tubulin antibody for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) (Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) (Green) were used as the secondary antibodies. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).

Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SERF2.

SERF2 (small EDRK-rich factor 2) is the human ortholog of the C/ elegans MOAG-4 gene. Serf2 (small EDRK-rich factor 2) is the human ortholog of the C. elegans MOAG-4 gene. MOAG-4 was shown to be a positive regulator of protein aggregates. Inactivation of MOAG-4 leads to a rescue from proteotoxcity, and could play a role in human diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. In addition, SERF2 can induce huntingtin aggregation in SK-N-SH neuroblastoma cells.
