PIWIL1 Antibody (PA5-17034) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescence analysis of Piwi-like protein 1 was performed using 70% confluent log phase HeLa cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 15 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 45 minutes at room temperature. Hiwi is a member of the Piwi /Argonaute protein family. Hiwi is specifically expressed in germline cells such as spermatocytes and round spermatids during spermatogenesis. Hiwi is also expressed in CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors, but not in CD34- hematopoietic cells, suggesting a role for this gene in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells.
