JWA Antibody (PA5-18094) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of JWA using JWA Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-18094) in paraformaldehyde fixed A431 cells, permeabilized with 0.15% Triton. Primary incubation 1hr (10 µg/mL) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL), showing plasma membrane and ER/cytoplasmic staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Negative control: Unimmunized goat IgG (10 µg/mL) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL).

JWA protein expression is affected by vitamin A and may be associated with the cytoskeleton. A protein similar to JWA in rats may play a role in the regulation of cell differentiation by inhibiting the cell membrane glutamate transporter EAAC1. The expression of the rat gene is upregulated by retinoic acid, which results in a specific reduction in EAAC1-mediated glutamate transport.
