LYN is a SRC family kinase expressed predominantly in hematopoietic cells. Activation of LYN has been shown to lead to imatinib resistance in CML patients. LYNB and the slightly shorter LYNA are the two isoforms of LYN. Diseases associated with LYN include Sarcoma and Myeloid Leukemia. Among its related pathways are Signaling by Erythropoietin and Regulation of actin dynamics for phagocytic cup formation. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to Lyn Isoform B include transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups and protein tyrosine kinase activity. An important paralog of Lyn Isoform B is HCK.
