It is also used in the Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley reduction. It is widely used in the manufacturing of petrochemicals such as alkylbenzene, ethylbenzene, alkyl aryl ketone, ethyl chloride. It is used for making detergents, polymerization and isomerization reactions of hydrocarbons.
