Expi293 Flex Cells represent an advanced HEK293 platform for rapid, high-yield protein expression. With optimized growth characteristics and stable expression performance over 40 passages, they achieve reliable scalability for various protein types and expression formats.
Derived from parental HEK293 cells, Expi293 Flex Cells serve as the core component of the Expi293 Flex Expression System. Cultivated exclusively in suspension, Expi293 Flex cells attain high densities in Expi293 Flex Expression Medium. With high transfectability, the cells deliver markedly higher protein yield than standard HEK293 cell lines for transient protein expression workflows.

Each vial contains 1 mL frozen cells suspended at 1x107 viable cells/mL in Expi293 Flex Medium and 10% DMSO; cells should be thawed straight into Expi293 Flex Expression medium. The 6-vial multipack avoids in-house cell expansion and rebanking work.
Cells are normally cultured in shake flasks inside humidified CO2 incubators. The system scales easily from <1 mL multiwell cultures to bioreactor runs over 10 L. Harvest timing ranges from 2 to 7 days after transfection based on target protein, with antibody collection routinely scheduled at Day 4–7 post-tranfection. No supplemental medium or fed-batch feeding is required throughout the expression phase.
