HID NIMBUS™ QNA System

The Applied Biosystems HID NIMBUS QNA System is an easy-to-use, compact automated instrument that can set up a DNA quantification plate, perform normalization, and set up an STR amplification plate for your forensic needs.

This automated solution is optimized for use with Applied Biosystems forensic human identification (HID) quantification and STR amplification kits, which have been validated according to the Scientific Working Group for DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM, December 2016).

Quantification setup

Cover more steps in the casework workflow with the optimized scripting and hands-free automated quantification setup. The HID NIMBUS QNA system can prepare samples for quantification using the Quantifiler Trio Automated DNA Quantification Kit either on a QuantStudio 5 or a 7500 real-time PCR system.

Normalization and amplification setup

The HID NIMBUS QNA System can remove the manual normalization process by automatically calculating dilution protocol and normalizing DNA samples. Add automated amplification setup, and analysts to help reduce hands on time and experience support, reliable, and accurate results from a variety of forensically relevant sample types.  

Software

The internally designed software includes visualization guides for reagent positioning, guidance mode for step-by-step setup, short tutorial videos, and images of the work deck setup. Users can initiate purification, quantification setup, and amplification setup in just a few minutes.
