Thermo Scientific TheraPure products for post-transcriptional capping are intended for use in the synthesis of mRNA in the development of mRNA therapeutics and vaccines.

Post-transcriptional capping involves adding a 5' cap structure to mRNA after transcription, enhancing mRNA stability and translation efficiency. The process uses TheraPure Vaccinia Capping Enzyme and TheraPure 2'-O-Methyltransferase for adding the cap structures and TheraPure S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine as a methyl donor. Capping efficiency can reach >95%.

Designed for process development

TheraPure Vaccinia Capping Enzyme is a highly efficient enzyme used for adding 7-methylguanylate cap structures (Cap-0) to the 5' ends of uncapped RNA. This capping is essential for the stability and translational efficiency of mRNA.

TheraPure 2'-O-Methyltransferase is a high-purity enzyme designed for the methylation of RNA molecules, specifically adding a methyl group to the 2'-O position of the ribose sugar (Cap-1).

TheraPure S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine is a high-purity reagent used as a methyl group donor in post-transcriptional capping for Cap-0 and Cap-1 structure.
