Immunocytochemistry analysis of IRS2 in HeLa cells. Samples were incubated with IRS2 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-14897) using a dilution of 1:25 for 1 h at 37°C followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) at a dilution of 1:400 for 50 min at 37°C. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min) and permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min). This gene encodes the insulin receptor substrate 2, a cytoplasmic signaling molecule that mediates effects of insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1, and other cytokines by acting as a molecular adaptor between diverse receptor tyrosine kinases and downstream effectors. The product of this gene is phosphorylated by the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase upon receptor stimulation, as well as by an interleukin 4 receptor-associated kinase in response to IL4 treatment.
