mCherry Antibody (M11217) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescent analysis of mCherry Tag was performed using 70% confluent mCherry-H3 transfected HEK-293 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. MCherry is a fluorophore (a fluorescent molecule) used in biotechnology as a tracer to follow the flow of fluids, as a marker when tagged to molecules and cells components. mCherry is a monomeric fluorescent construct which absorbs at 587 nm and emits at 610 nm. It is resistant to photobleaching and is stable. It matures quickly, with a t 0. 5 of 15 minutes, allowing it to be visualized soon after translation.
