Electron Microscopes – Manufacturing Sustainability and a Circular Economy

Manufacturing sustainability of electron microscopes and XPS instruments

We are addressing sustainability through several key initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices throughout our supply chain. A cornerstone of our sustainability mission is our innovative "Greener by Design" program. By prioritizing green design, we strive to think differently about how we design, make, and package our products. As part of our efforts, we design products with energy efficiency in mind, which includes the introduction of energy saving modes.

We also prioritize transparency by pursuing ACT labels for our electron microscopy (EM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) products, providing customers with clear, third-party verified information to make informed choices. Additionally, we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations and supply chain as part of our net-zero by 2050 roadmap. This includes an enhanced investment strategy, transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable electricity, and engaging with our suppliers.
