We emphasize a sustainable supply chain by working closely with suppliers to ensure they meet sustainability standards and ethical practices. This includes sourcing raw materials responsibly, reducing environmental impact, and promoting fair labor practices. Employee and community engagement is also fostered through sustainability training for employees and participation in community projects and partnerships that support environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
Our supply chain is the largest source of emissions for our business, accounting for over 90% of the greenhouse gas emissions within our value chain. By developing a supplier engagement program focused on climate change, we aim to significantly reduce our environmental impact both as a company and within the analytical instrument sector.
To address this, we undertook a comprehensive project to calculate the baseline for our Scope 3 emissions. To encourage similar investments in reporting and emissions reduction among our suppliers, we established our first near-term Scope 3 target. By 2027, we will engage suppliers representing 90% of our Scope 3 emissions from Purchased Goods and Services and Upstream Transportation and Distribution in setting climate-related, science-based targets.
