GGA1 Antibody (A305-320A) in IP
Detection of human GGA1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-GGA1 antibody (Product # A305-320A) (lot 1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. GGA1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-GGA1 antibody A305-368A. For blotting immunoprecipitated GGA1, A305-320A was used at 0.4 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

This gene encodes an apoptosis inhibitory protein whose expression prevents apoptosis after growth factor deprivation. This protein suppresses the transcription factor E2F1-induced apoptosis and also interacts with, and negatively regulates Acinus, a nuclear factor involved in apoptotic DNA fragmentation. Its depletion enhances the cytotoxic action of the chemotherapeutic drugs. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
