You can have Anti-Clumping Agent and Pluronic F-68 in the medium while growing Expi293 cells. You need to remove Anti-Clumping Agent at least 2 passages prior to transfection of Expi293 cells because it interferes with transfection. You can add it back to the medium after transfection. Pluoronic F-68 can be present during transfection as it does not interfere with transfection.

To inquire about an Evaluation License, or Commercial Production License, or Service License, please email: outlicensing@thermofisher.com.
As long as the license is not in breach, commercial use rights are granted in to perpetuity for the Commercial Production License. The term of the Commercial Service License is negotiated between the parties.
Only a one-time license fee is required for a Commercial Production License, and it covers use during the clinical trial process and continues through the commercialization of one molecule.
Yes. We offer an Evaluation Licensing Program, which allows you to purchase 1 vial of Expi293-F Cells (cGMP banked) for a one-time payment. A Limited Use Label License (LULL) accompanies each Evaluation License purchased from Life Technologies Corporation (LIFE) by the LIFE customer (Customer). The rights granted to a Customer with the purchase of an Evaluation License in the LULL include the following:
- Internal research use by Customer of such purchased Cell Line and the resulting molecules produced by such Cell Line
- Transfer of such Cell Line by Customer to a service provider (e.g., contract manufacturing organization (CMO) or contract research organization (CRO)) for Cell Line development and/or protein production solely for research and solely on behalf of and for the benefit of the Customer who purchased such Cell Line
A license is required under the following circumstances:
- An Evaluation License is required prior to transfer of cGMP-banked Expi293F Cells to Life Technologies Corporation (LIFE) customer's (Customer) laboratories. This license will permit the end user to use the cGMP-banked Expi293F Cells for non-commercial, non-clinical trial evaluation purposes.
- A Commercial Production License is required prior to the clinical use in humans of expressed proteins, and/or when an IND submission is being prepared for first-in-human clinical studies.
- A Commercial Service Provider License is required by service providers (e.g. contract manufacturing organization (CMO), contract research organization (CRO), etc.) prior to use of the cells for any client projects, regardless of client end-use.
Yes. The cGMP-banked Expi293F cells were produced from the same master seed bank as our non-cGMP banked Expi293F cells (Cat. Nos. A14527 and A14528). The growth characteristics and protein expression performance of the cGMP and non-cGMP versions of this cell line have been evaluated. Results are presented in Figure A, shown on the product page (https://www.thermofisher.com/order/catalog/product/100044202).
