What is the shelf life of Pierce DTT (Dithiothreitol), No-Weigh Format (Cat. No. A39255)?

Pierce DTT (Dithiothreitol), No-Weigh Format is covered under our general 1-year warranty and is guaranteed to be fully functional for 12 months from the date of shipment, if stored as recommended. Please see section 8.1 of our Terms & Conditions of Sale for more details.

Can you please recommend a method for reduction, alkylation, and digestion of an antibody?

Prepare 1 mg/mL antibody in 7.0 M Guanidine HCl, 100 mM Tris, pH 8.3. For reduction, add DTT (Cat. Nos. A39255, 20290) solution at 10 mM final concentration and incubate for 30 mins at room temperature. For alkylation, add sodium iodoacetate at 20 mM final concentration and incubate in the dark for 20 mins at room temperature. Perform buffer exchange followed by digestion using Pierce MS grade Trypsin, Cat. Nos. 90058, 90057 (1:10 enzyme to substrate ratio).

How does a product with "No-Weigh" format reduce my concern over reagent stability?

The No-Weigh product format, where small amounts of reagent are pre-weighed and packaged separately, prevents the contamination and loss of reagent reactivity over time associated with repetitive opening and closing of a single vial. This format enables use of a fresh vial of reagent each time and eliminates the hassle of weighing out small amounts of reagent.
