We would highly recommend using the provided Elution Buffer in the elution step for best results. You may use nuclease-free water; however, it may affect the yield of the nucleic acids during purification and their stability during storage.
The GeneJET spin columns are compatible with vacuum manifolds of standard size (e.g. Qiagen, Sigma-Aldrich, Promega). However, not all GeneJET kits are supported with a vacuum protocol. Please refer to the particular kit protocol for the detailed procedure.
The GeneJET Gel Extraction Kit is designed for gel extraction but can also be used for PCR clean-up by following the protocol from the GeneJET PCR Purification Kit. The components in the GeneJET Gel Extraction Kit and GeneJET PCR Purification Kit are very similar and can be used interchangeably. The exact composition of solutions in the kits is proprietary.
For a 3-in-1 kit for purification of PCR products from enzymatic reaction mixtures and agarose gels, we recommend using the GeneJET Gel Extraction and DNA Cleanup Micro Kit (Cat. Nos. K0831/2).
We recommend performing centrifugation steps at room temperature when the temperature is not specified.
No, we do not offer GeneJET columns or MagJET magnetic beads separately at this time.
The wash buffers and bindings buffers for the GeneJet kits are in most cases available separately. Unfortunately, the purification columns for all GeneJet kits including the GeneJET Gel Extraction Kit are not available separately. They can only be acquired as part of the whole kit itself.
