Western Blot analysis of NeuroG3 using the NeuroG3 Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-37741) at a 1:4000 dilution. THP-1 whole cell lysates were loaded at 20 µg per lane. Secondary Goat Anti-mouse IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at 1:10,000 dilution. Predicted band size: 23 kDa. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

Neurog 3 protein contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain.It is both necessary and sufficient to induce endocrine islet cell differentiation from embryonic pancreatic progenitors. Not only does itinitiates endocrine cell differentiation, italso promotes islet cell maturation and maintains islet function. It is reported that Neurogenin 3 can redirect the differentiation of bipotential secretory progenitors to endocrine rather than goblet cell fate.
