Our enablement and implementation services are designed to meet the needs of forensic laboratories and law enforcement agency partners. We collaborate to establish decentralized Rapid DNA testing for arrestee enrollment, investigative leads, and/or disaster victim identification testing. These projects follow defined processes to verify connectivity of systems and third-party integration.

How we work

Using a consultative approach, our Human Identification Professional Services (HPS) team develops services to meet your technical, regulatory, and budgetary needs. The proven HPS project framework is based on standard needs but offers the flexibility to design a Rapid DNA program tailored to your goals. This approach ensures collaborative engagement, effective project management, integrated solutions, and workflow confirmation.

1. Project planning 2. Workflow design 3. IT solutions architecture 4. Vendor integration 5. Workflow verification
Enablement specialists and project managers consult with you and review the scope and scale of your program. IT and enablement specialists develop a workflow design, including deployment type, data transmission, and integration with any third-party vendor products. For large distributed programs, an IT integration engineer develops network diagrams and data flows with agency IT to document key elements of the program. Specialists coordinate with third-party biometrics and databasing vendors to confirm our systems can communicate with other applications in the workflow. IT and enablement specialists assist with the final end-to-end workflow verification to confirm that results are sent to the appropriate location(s).

Investigative leads

Collect and rapidly process crime scene samples for investigative leads. Identify and eliminate suspects to solve more crimes, faster.

1. Collect evidence 2. Run DNA samples 3. Review results 4. Search & match profiles 5. Notify of match output

Arrestee enrollment

Identify arrestees wanted in connection with a crime while still in custody to prevent future crimes and exonerate the innocent.

1. Capture fingerprints 2. Collect & run DNA samples 3. Validate results 4. Search & match profiles 5. Notify of match output

Working sessions focus on program and workflow design, including:

  • Program size
  • Participating agencies
  • Key stakeholders
  • Number of locations of RapidHIT ID instruments
  • Product deployment options
  • Data flow options
  • Third party products and integration needs (if any)
  • IT & data security considerations
  • Future program expansion

Disaster victim identification

Any circumstance in which lives are lost is a tragedy that can have immediate and lasting effects on our communities. DNA testing is one of the most reliable methods to identify victims. Our team is prepared to assist your units with incident response. Whether you need to utilize traditional DNA tools or deploy Rapid DNA units for swift identification in mass-casualty events, we are here to support your efforts.

  • Support—our HID team embodies its mission to make the world a safer place. We stand by our forensic customers and are willing to help in times of urgent and great need to advance humanitarian efforts and identifications resulting from tragic events and natural disasters.
  • Activate—with our global reach and diverse applications and technical support, we have assembled regional and global teams to support our customers. Donations, onsite field and remote support, and other assistance may be available during tragic events.
  • Coordinate—our HID team organizes team members to rally around the situation and respond on our customers’ terms. The team works efficiently through our large organization and leverages the expertise of field applications, engineering teams, and other key business partners.

IT deployment review

Skilled IT Integration engineers help assess the size and complexity of your deployment to determine which option(s) are most feasible for your agency’s network and data transmission needs. These same specialists work with your state and local IT as well as third-party vendors to aid successful deployment.

What's included?

  • Network diagrams, including physical locations of devices, RapidHIT ID serial numbers/IP addresses, RapidLINK Software installation and critical network connections
  • Data flow to establish preferred transmission scenarios (e.g., REST API, sftp, or file shares)
  • End-to-end verification tests to verify network infrastructure and data transmissions are successful from each satellite location

3rd party integration

Our IT integration engineers also assist with 3rd party vendor integrations. Consult with us to understand how your RapidHIT ID System can integrate with Livescan biometric devices, DNA database applications, or other products in your Rapid workflow.

Other offerings

  • Laboratory—large DNA databasing programs
  • On location—familial testing for events, border security, and national interests
