Cyan Fluorescent ProteinCyan Fluorescent Protein (CFP) is a versatile biological marker for monitoring physiological processes, visualizing protein localization, and detecting transgenic expression in vivo. CFP can be excited by the 405 nm laser line and is optimally detected at 485 nm.

We offer a series of Invitrogen RFP CellLight fusion constructs of signal peptides or cell structure proteins with CFP for accurate and specific targeting to subcellular structures, including the nucleus and plasma membrane.

CellLight reagents offer high spatial and temporal resolution for live-cell applications and tolerate fixation with formaldehyde for fixed-cell analysis. Green Fluorescent Protein, Red Fluorescent Protein, and Cyan Fluorescent Protein constructs are available for multiplexing with cellular stains and other CellLight reagents.

CellLight reagents

CellLight reagents are ready-to-use fluorescent protein constructs targeted to specific subcellular structures. These reagents provide a simple and effective method for introducing targeted intracellular labels within living cells. Simply add the reagent to your cells, incubate overnight, and you’re ready to image your cells.

Live cell imaging with CellLight reagents. HEK-293 cells transduced with CellLight Plasma Membrane-CFP and CellLight Peroxisome-GFP. The following day, live-cell imaging was performed using a 60x objective on a DeltaVision Core microscope and standard DAPI/FITC/TRITC filter sets.

BacMam Technology

  • Efficient transduction of cell lines, including primary cells and stem cells
  • Safe transduction and lack of observable cytopathic effects
  • Easy modulation of gene expression
  • Expression of multi-component complexes at the right stoichiometry

The Invitrogen BacMam technology is based on double-stranded DNA insect viruses (baculovirus) as vehicles to efficiently deliver and express genes in mammalian cells, including those encoding fluorescent proteins. such as Cyan Fluorescent Protein. Baculoviruses are well-tolerated and nonreplicating in mammalian cells, so they have an excellent safety profile for routine applications.
